‘Mission Impossible 5’ News: Ving Rhames confirmed, Simon Pegg talks
Tom Cruise will be back as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible 5 and will be reuniting with a fan favorite as Ving Rhames is set to join the cast.

Tom Cruise will be joined by Ving Rhames, who will be returning as Luther in the fifth “Mission Impossible” film
Director Christopher McQuarrie broke the news by tweeting, “Welcome back Mr. Rhames”, confirming that his character, Luther Stickell, would be making a return for the fifth film in the series.
Rhames was a regular in the first three films of the series, before sitting out the most recent outing, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, but for a tiny cameo at the film’s end.
Alec Baldwin will be playing a CIA Director and star Jeremy Renner will be joining Cruise on another adventure.
McQuarrie directed Cruise in the successful Jack Reacher film. Co-star Simon Pegg is also expected to retrun as Benji with Paula Patton rumored to be included in the next adventure. Rebecca Ferguson is joining the cast as “Cruise’s right hand lady” according to Deadline.
“It’s my third one and I’m very excited to be back on that train, it’s a very exciting ride. So as long as people want them, I guess we’ll keep making them,” Pegg said in an Aug. 15 Belfast Telegraph article.
No other plot details have emerged, but the film is expected to be filming in London, Marrakesh, Rabat and Casablanca.
The Untitled Mission Impossible film is set to arrive in theaters Christmas Day 2015.
This release date may change as the Paramount film is set to square off against Kung Fu Panda 3 and arrive just one week after Star Wars Episode VII.
Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce was already brought in to write the film and Cruise signed on back in May.
