Missing teen Adriana Coronado identified as body found in Houston
Authorities have positively identified the remains of a body found Wednesday near a road in northwest Houston through fingerprint analysis as a missing teen.
The body is Adriana Coronado, the 14-year-old who was reported missing after her father was found fatally shot, Houston police say.
In a statement Friday evening, the Houston Police Department claim that Adriana had last been seen in Katy, a Houston suburb, on Saturday. An Amber Alert had police and citizens searching for the teen girl.
The girl’s father, Cesar Vladimir Coronado, was found dead the following day, his burned body dumped near a ditch in a rural area in Walker County, about 80 miles north of Houston. Investigators believe Adriana might have been with her father when he was killed.
A cause of death for Adriana is pending, Houston police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said Friday.
Houston Police say the investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
