The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department said the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office identified the body as Sharone Napua Nakoa, 32 and notified the county on Monday. Nakoa is from Monaca, Pa. and was found on April 16 near the Jennings Randolph Bridge.

The sheriff’s department says Nakoa was reported missing to the Monaca Police Department on Feb. 19. She was identified by the tattoo on the back her neck, her mother told the press.

Hundreds of people attended a vigil to remember the life of a Beaver County woman, whose nickname was “Lonnie.”  More than 200 family members and friends gathered to honor the mother of three.

“We didn’t realize she touched so many people,” said Nakoa’s mother Patsey Nakoa.

In what is believed to be their last conversation, Nakoa told her mom she was going to pick up her son from his father’s house.

Patsy Nokoa said her daughter was upset about a recent custody change.

“I want to know what happened to my daughter so I can move on,” said Patsy Nakoa.
