Missing Kansas woman, Sandra Herron-Burns, identified as dead body in park
A person found dead Sunday in Kansas part has been identified as a woman who had been reported missing in December.
Authorities reported Wednesday that Sandra Herron-Burns, age 43, was the person found dead in the Roeland Park.
Herron-Burns was reported missing from her apartment on December 9. The woman was reportedly suffering from mental health issues, even going missing several other times prior.
She is diagnosed with schizophrenia with paranoid tendencies and PTSD and missed an appointment at the Johnson County Mental Health, which prompted concern.
She is also dealing with recent deaths of two people close to her, police said. It is unknown if this has worsened her condition.
Police said she does not have a car, and officers were concerned for her health in the frigid temperatures.
The woman was found in a wooded area about a quarter of mile away from the Interstate.
Police used fingerprints to identify her and an autopsy will be conducted to determine her cause of death.
