‘Minions Paradise’ game with ‘Minions’ film, EA gets deal with studio
EA has announced a partnership with Despicable Me movie studio, Illumination Entertainment, “to bring its IPs to mobile platforms,” beginning with Minions Paradise to coincide with the Minions film, opening this summer.
Minions Paradise will be the first game developed as a result of the deal, which will introduce Phil, an entirely new Minion created by Illumination, according to the new report.
“EA’s developers are working with the artists, animators, and writers of Illumination to make sure the game fits with the rest of the Despicable Me brand,” says Game Ranx.
“In the game, players will control Phil, who’s tasked with building a village for the other Minions. Aside from designing and building the town, Minions will also take part in activities such as mango tossing, fishing, and water skiing,” they summarized.
Minions Paradise will launch this summer with the feature film, which will star Sandra Bullock as Scarlett Overkill, the first evil genius partnering with the adorable yellow creatures.
The new film also adds the voice from Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, Hiroyuki Sanada, Katy Mixon, Jennifer Saunders, Steve Coogan and Steve Carrell as Gru.
Minions movie which arrive in theaters on July 10th.
