Ming-Na Wen teases Agent May’s future, decisions in ‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3
Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) will return to S.H.I.E.L.D. after her hiatus with Andrew (Blair Underwood), but her return may be short lived, based on comments by Ming-Na to TV Guide. (and a statement by Underwood as well).
“In any situation when someone is so devoted to their work as May was, but then realizing over the last two years that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t really what she dedicated her life to,” Wen tells the popular TV magazine/online resource.
“That there was definitely a lot of corruption to S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as uncertainty now with the Inhumans being brought in by Coulson (Clark Gregg). It’s going to be figuring out her final decision in Season 3 and I think Andrew will probably play a part in it.”
May struggle to rebuild her personal life against a return to full time spy duty appears to be a decisive theme for season 3 of the popular ABC show.
“Andrew has gotten over his grudge against S.H.I.E.L.D. and will be taking a more active role in the organization,” TVG notes.
“What’s interesting is now May is disgruntled by S.H.I.E.L.D., but last season when May came to Andrew with the idea of coming back to S.H.I.E.L.D., he was disgruntled and had left the agency,” Underwood says. “But now he’s back working with them and the Inhumans.”
Season 3 was approved back in May and will begin on September 29,2015.
