Miguel Webster charged with murder of Asonte Gutierrez and several other charges
A Lansing, Illinois teen has been indicted on multiple criminal charges in connection with the shooting death last month of a teenager (Asonte Gutierrez, age 15) from Country Club Hills.

Miguel Webster, age 17, who is being held without bond at the Cook County Jail, appeared briefly in court where he was informed of the additional charges. He said nothing during his brief court appearance.
Webster had been facing charges of murder and concealment of a homicide. But the indictment now charges him with eight counts of first-degree murder, one count of concealment of a homicide and one count of illegal possession of a rifle.
The next court date for Webster is slated for October 23 and he can enter a plea.
An autopsy showed Gutierrez suffered two shotgun wounds to the head and his death was ruled a homicide.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by officials of the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Police said Webster and Gutierrez were acquaintances and the shooting was not a random act. They also said a search of Webster’s garage and home uncovered evidence including a weapon linking Webster to the death.
