Michael Raymond-James as Neal Cassidy upgraded to regular for ‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3

Fans of Neal/Baelfire can rest assured that Henry’s dad will be returning next season.

Once Upon a Time has upgraded Michael Raymond-James to series regular for Season 3, TVLine reports Wednesday.

After making his Once debut as Emma’s ex/Henry’s father Neal Cassidy aka Baelfire in the Emma-centric episode “Tallahassee,” Raymond-James heavily recurred in the last string of Season 2 episodes, as Rumple discovered his son in New York City and circumstances then led them back to Storybrooke.

Series co-creator Adam Horowitz revealed the news to TVLine at ABC’s Upfront party in New York City Tuesday evening.

The star had recently said some answers were coming, just maybe not all of them. Here’s his comments on the last two episodes: “We’re almost there. I think a lot of people’s questions are going to be answered this Sunday and some of those answers you’re going to get are going to lead to more questions, but that’s the fun of a show like this. It’s constantly unfolding. You gotta buy the ticket and take the ride.”

Once Upon a Time will likely had back into to production soon, so stay tuned for details.
