Michael Pena confirmed to return for ‘Ant-Man and Wasp’

Marvel Studios surprised fans with Ant-Man, making the tiny hero a big hit and resulted in the studio changing up their schedule to allow for a sequel called Ant-Man and The Wasp for 2018.

Actor Michael Pena supplied some great comedic moments and will indeed return for the sequel.  The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the End of Watch star will reprise his role as Scott Lang’s fellow thief and friend Luis.

Ant-man pic staring down hole with antsPaul Rudd, and Evangeline Lilly are obviously confirmed to return for Ant-Man and The Wasp. Michael Douglas is also expected to come back, but he wasn’t under contract for multiple films at the start, so his return as Hank Pym will need to be negotiated.

Sharon Stone is said have a role in Ant-Man and The Wasp teasing a “wee part” in the movie, likely Janet Van Dyne, Hank Pym’s wife who is believed to be dead after going subatomic to stop a missile from killing innocent people.

With production on the sequel slated to begin early next year, expect more about the cast joining returning director Peyton Reed in the coming months so stay tuned for more updates.

“I’m dying to come back and do the movie. I’m very excited about it,” Reed said about returning. The new film will attempt to play Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp as an awesome hero.
“That was one of the things that was important to me in the first movie when I came on was emphasizing the Wasp more, both Hope Van Dyne and Janet Van Dyne,” he said. “It’s a crucial part. It’s a crucial part because in the comic books, with the exception of the first handful of Ant-Man stories, Wasp came on pretty early on in the comics in the ’60s and you really thought of them as a partnership, a romantic partnership as well as a hero team. It’s going to be fun to play around with all the aspects of that in this movie.”

Ant-Man and The Wasp arrives on July 6, 2018.
