Michael Moore blames press for role in Donald Trump’s success but doesn’t attack true liberal bias

The attack on the media has worked well for Donald Trump and during Friday on MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” leftist documentary filmmaker Michael Moore partially blamed the press for President-elect Donald Trump’s ability to score political points and fuel the movement which got him elected.

Moore told fill-in host Ari Melber much of it had to do with the presses struggles with the Iraq war and weapons of mass destruction.

“The reason it works — to get people to hate the press that is standing there is because the press has not done the job the people expect it to do,” Moore said.

“We don’t have to go back all through my life. Let’s just go back to the beginning of the Iraq war when The New York Times had a reporter who was writing stories that simply were not true about Saddam and weapons of mass destruction. And from that point on — then go on through the banking crisis where the media — many in the media don’t understand basic economics, or how the economic system runs.”

While Moore is accurate with his examples, he refuses to acknowledge the media’s bias towards President Obama, the lack of coverage given to scandals, the permissive attitude with Hillary Clinton and fueling the electoral college nonsense which followed the election.

Moore himself speaks of Trump in hyperbole, ‘he brings fascism’ Moore once stated, ignoring the hypocrisy of his support of Hillary after Bernie Sanders was cheated by the DNC.

Moore called Trump supporters “legal terrorists” — that is why Trump is finding an audience!

The liberalism of the media is fueling Donald Trump, NOT their handling of the Iraq War. Leftists like Moore hit the target from time to time with attacks on the media, but are nowhere near the bullseye: the media has failed America because Democrats, liberals, Hollywood elites and social justice rules the newsrooms.

Until that changes, Trump will find a supportive audience.
