Michael C Hall talks ‘Dexter’ season 8, the big finale and jumping to the big screen
Michael C Hall is making some rounds with the press, promoting his new film “Kill Your Darlings,” which played at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend.
Hall can’t escape questions about the future of his character Dexter as the show allegedly heads into the final season.
Talking in a video interview with Hollywire about missing the “decisive” character that Dexter Morgan is, he was a bit more ambiguous when talking about his own future as an actor when the show is over.
“I’m excited to see what comes next. Anything more specific than that I’m hard-pressed to say [what will happen]. Things like ‘Dexter,’ that’s something that I couldn’t quite imagine before it came to pass. I’d like to believe that the future holds things that I can’t quite imagine right now.”
Coming off of a seventh season hailed as a creative comeback by most critics, “Dexter” will return early in 2013, premiering on June 30.
With this success, will “Dexter” move to the big screen, here’s what he says to OpentheMagazine.com
“You know there’s been talk about that possibility, but I struggle to see it being worthwhile. I mean, if somebody can put something in front of me that was compelling, I would be excited, sure, but I have trouble imagining it.”
With all of the theories that Dexter will die or get arrested, Hall seems the ending differently.
“And as far as the ending is concerned, I do fantasize about a happy ending on Dexter’s behalf, you know, because it’s something that he perhaps deserves, though I honestly don’t know if that’s the way it’s going to pan out.”
I’m not sure in what world June 30th is ‘early 2013’…
Dexter has either premiered in September or October, never June. Fyi, June is earlier then Sept. or Oct.
