Michael Burdess kills Donald Watson then self in Wyoming murder suicide

Police in Wyoming say a shooting last week in the small Natrona County town of Mills was a murder-suicide, identifying the victim as Donald Watson, shot and killed by Michael Burdess.

Burdess, 43, engaged in a physical altercation with Watson, 63, on October 17, according to the Mills Police Department. After killing Burdess, he fatally shot himself.

Watson died Friday at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

Cpl. Bryan McLimore said officers arrived at a house on the 500 block of Platte Avenue at about 11:22 p.m. Wednesday in response to a shooting call.

The police statement says a combination of prescription medicine and alcohol are thought to have contributed to the shooting.
