Michael Bay drops first ‘TMNT 2’ photos: Polaris sports car, Tartaruga Bros battlewagon
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, the upcoming sequel to last years’ hit reboot of the comic-based franchise, is set to begin filming in locations around New York and producer Michael Bay took to Twitter to reveal two of the vehicles that’ll be appearing in the film: the battlewagon and a Polaris sports car.
“Just some stuff I found… http://s4te.com/1I89Iaa ” tweeted the Transformers director, @michaelbay
The Turtles’ garbage truck is the transformed “Battlewagon”, first seen at the end of the last movie. The name – “Tartaruga Brothers” – is a bad pun based on “tartaruga,” which is “turtle” in Italian.
“As for the sports car, that’s a Polaris slingshot, a three-wheeled motorcycle already verboten in Texas, where it isn’t street legal as a car and doesn’t meet the state’s definition of a motorcycle,” notes Deadline.
Megan Fox, William Fichtner, and all four of the actors portraying the turtles are returning: Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Pete Plosek (Leonardo), Jeremy Howard will play Donatello and Noel Fisher as Michelangelo. Danny Woodburn is presumed to return to play Splinter and Tohoru Masamune as the iconic villain, Shredder.
Will Arnett is back as Vernon Fenwick, April’s cameraman, and gets Alessandra Ambrosio as a girlfriend.
Arrow actor Stephen Amell joins the cast the comic series’ hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones with Tyler Perry as evil scientist Bazter Stockman. Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec are returning to produce and write the script. Dave Green is directing.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is scheduled for release June 3, 2016
