Melissa Harris-Perry wears tampons earrings to protest Texas abortion bill

On Sunday, in a protest of the Texas state legislature, Melissa Harris-Perry actually put on a pair of tampon earrings in the middle of her program.

“I just have to show these. My producer Lorena made for me last week some tampon earrings because of course you’re remember that the Texas state legislature said that you couldn’t bring tampons in when they were going these women to in fact stand up for their own reproductive rights. You weren’t allowed initially to bring tampons. So, just in case that ever happens again ladies, you can just bring them on your earrings.”

Texas women initially weren’t allowed to bring tampons to protest the Texas legislature’s debate on a bill placing restrictions on abortions because they were plotting to through them at officials.

Items confiscated: one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected to contain feces, and three bottles suspected to contain paint. All of these items — as well as significant quantities of feminine hygiene products, glitter and confetti possessed by individuals — were required to be discarded.

Democratic State Sen. Kirk Watson called the practice “boneheaded” and “crazy.”

What law enforcement agency confiscates and DESTROYS evidence of potential bio-terror at a State Capitol? There are no witnesses to any jars of waste being confiscated. Doesn’t this seem like a GOP WMD defense for the horror and humiliation they committed upon women on both sides of this issue?
