Megyn Kelly battles Gosnell attorney who calls doctor a ‘gentleman’ and ‘went awry,’ saying he ‘stuck scissors’ in their necks
During “America Live” on Wednesday, Fox News host Megyn Kellygot into heated discussion with convicted abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell’s attorney Jack McMahon.
The attorney repeatedly defended his client against claims that Gosnell was running a “late-term abortion” clinic and that he routinely killed babies born alive outside the womb.
“The testimony was the babies were born alive, were wiggling on the operating table, were crying — and he stuck scissors in the back of their necks,” Kelly said.
“That’s not true,” McMahon replied.
“The jury found he was guilty of murder. Murder of babies,” Kelly shot back.
Kelly also took exception to McMahon’s assertion that things just went a little “awry” in Gosnell’s clinic when, in fact, unthinkable horrors occurred there.
The attorney conceded that there should have been some oversight at the clinic, which went unchecked for over 18 years.
“He tried to abort them, and he failed then he tried to kill them once they were born alive. That’s what the jury found,” Kelly said, adding that the conditions of the clinic were horrendous.
Kelly grew increasingly frustrated as McMahon continuously denied the findings of the jury.
The attorney said claims that the clinic was unsanitary and that Gosnell showed preferential treatment to white women were “not true.”
“So it was the Mayo Clinic. It was great,” Kelly said sarcastically. “Women had a great experience there, including the one that he was convicted of involuntarily man slaughtering.”
The conversation remained heated as the two debated whether Gosnell was running a late-termabortion clinic.
“The problem here, Jack, is that he was running a late-term abortion clinic,” a frustrated Kelly said. “If it’s not late-term abortion, how does a baby get born alive?”
McMahon countered by saying Gosnell performed late-term abortions but wasn’t running a “late-term abortion clinic.”
