The latest report indicates two people are missing and at least 14 people were injured when a gas line in Kansas City, Missouri, exploded and ignited a four-alarm fire, officials said Tuesday night.
The explosion apparently leveled JJ’s restaurant, a popular spot in Country Club Plaza, an upscale shopping district and residential neighborhood that is a regional gathering place.
James Garrett, a spokesman for the Kansas City Fire Department, said three people were unaccounted for Tuesday night.

Missouri Gas Energy said: “Early indications are that a contractor doing underground work struck a natural gas line, but the investigation continues.”
Now the mother of a woman who remains missing has offered dental records to determine if the body found is Megan Cramer.
Genny Cramer says Fire Department officials told her dental records were being used to determine if Megan body was the one found Wednesday in the building where she had worked as a server.
Cramer says her family is certain their daughter died in the blast.
KSDK details that Genny Cramer says she talked to her daughter on the phone Tuesday while Megan Cramer was getting ready for work. She called her daughter a special person who wrote poetry and helped establish the first lesbian/gay student group at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
At least 15 people were injured in the blast.
Six people remained hospitalized Wednesday, three in critical condition, Berardi said.
