MegaCon 2014: Cosplay, John Barrowman and ‘Smallville’ panels highlight day one
Thousands lined up to be the first ones inside of Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida for 2014’s MegaConvention. Fans came dressed as their favorite superhero, movie, television or anime character.
Of course, cosplay rules the day: old, young, half dressed, body paint – there is something for everyone to see. Check out some of the first wave of photos below, with more to come.
Brandon Jones actually broadcasts live in the third hour of the The Liberty Underground Radio Show from MegaCon just before the convention begins – check out the video coverage which begins around the 2:10 mark.
Artist Laura J. Martin and Joseph dressed as a Jedi Knight from Star Wars both speak live on the air with the show.
The first day featured two high profile panels: John Barrowman and the cast from Smallville: John Glover, Allison Mack, Laura Vandervoort and Aaron Ashmore.
Panels are a great way for actors and celebrities to interact with fans, take questions and give some great insider knowledge to their most dedicated fans. One of the most popular panels over the years at these conventions is the Stan Lee event, so check out the schedule to hear and see the great comic book creator.
