Maryland: Christine Andrews killed by estranged husband Todd Andrews, who kills self

Maryland State Police investigators are investigating a murder-suicide that occurred November 1 in Allegany County, leaving two adults dead and three girls without parents.

Identified as Christine M. Andrews, 44, the woman was shot and her her daughter was heard by neighbors, running out, yelling “Help! Call the police. My Mom’s been shot.”

Todd C. Andrews, 47, then took his own life, there is his home on 14000-block of Elton Drive in Cresaptown, prompting police to respond just before 2:30 p.m.

Emergency care procedures were performed on Christine, who was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. Todd was found dead in the bedroom next to a handgun.

Preliminary investigation determined that two of the couple’s children and a friend arrived at the home during the shooting.

They were not threatened or injured in the incident.

Investigators have confirmed that Todd and Christine Andrews had recently separated. An initial check found no reports concerning domestic violence involving the couple.

Both bodies have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsies.

The investigation is continuing.
