Marvel’s ‘What If’ set for Summer 2021 with an all-star voice cast

Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con panel was a marathon of Phase 4 release dates, details, and surprises. The feature films will now drop around the addition of TV shows debut to the upcoming Disney+ platform, which begins in November.

Among those shows will be What If…?: an anthology based on the infamous comic line, the series will focus on alternate reality tales running parallel to the MCU.

The cast will be an all-star lineup, including Chris Hemsworth, Josh Brolin, and Chadwick Boseman. The series will center around the careful eye of Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) as The Watcher, a celestial observer of the multiverse.

Some famous What If…? comics include “What If… Captain America and Bucky Had Both Survived World War II?” “What If Loki Found Thor’s Hammer First? “What if the Hulk had reverted to Bruce Banner when he crashed on Sakaar?” and “What If Thanos Joined the Avengers?”

Collider reports that at least one episode of the show will explore what would happen if Peggy Carter became Captain America. Part of the episode will apparently concern itself with Steve Rogers fighting against Hydra in a metal suit designed by Howard Stark.

What If…? premieres in summer 2021.
