Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige says ‘Ant-Man’ casting may be before end of year
While promoting Thor: The Dark World Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige also discussed the upcoming Avengers sequel before answering a question about Ant-Man.
During the Collider interview, noting that Ant-Man is set to go into production next year, Feige was asked when fans will hear some casting news.
“I think it could be before the end of the year…We’re definitely searching now and hoping to have the majority of the cast by the end of the year.”
Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were rumored to be at the top of the “want” list, but nothing else has surfaced.
Director Edgar Wright teased fans with a behind-the-scenes photo from the test footage and the film is indeed set to come to theaters in 2015.
The release of Ant-Man was recently moved forward to July 31, 2015.
Little is known of the story, but the Avengers villain Ultron is not part of the story. Protagonist Hank Pym had a hand in creating the character in the Marvel Comics source material, but the Avengers 2 film arrives in May of 2015.
