Marvel News: ‘Captain America 3’ may see Red Skull, ‘The Inhumans’ moves ahead

Captain America Chris Evans Winter Soldier photoMarvel Studios rolled on in 2014 with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy being huge box office successes. Now directors Joe and Anthony Russo gave fans a sneak at what’s in store for the third Cap film.

“All these characters exist,” Anthony Russo said when asked if Red Skull will be back. “There’s very inventive, creative ways to make characters relevant again and surprising ways to make the characters relevant again,” he added in the interview with Screenrant.

His brother Joe, with Entertainment Weekly, saying that Cap 3 is challenging.

“That’s what we’re in the middle of on Cap 3 right now, pushing really hard to make sure that what we deliver is something that’s gonna be different from Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” he said.

Furthermore, new bigger villain characters will be added. As Anthony said, a hero can really only be defined when paired up against his nemesis. This concept would eventually bring in a greater villain to “Captain America 3” and fans would likely also witness a more powerful Steve Rogers.

The Inhumans

Vin Diesel dropped a hint about being part of The Inhumans, but it turns out he may not have been joking. Marvel studios is happy with the existing script by Joe Robert Cole (Amber Lake).

According to Collider, Marvel plans to handle The Inhumans in the same way they handled Guardians of the Galaxy:

…the original draft of Guardians was written by Nicole Perlman, who was part of Marvel’s writing program.  That draft then went out to filmmakers.  When James Gunn came on board, he added his flavor and details to the story, but the characters, story structure, and beats from Perlman’s draft remained in place.

Collider notes that Cole also came out of Marvel’s writing program, the studio is pleased with his script, so now they’re presumably ready to take it out to filmmakers.

The Inhumans were created by alien experiments on primitive homo-sapiens.  The alien race behind the experiments, the Kree, abandoned their work and the Inhumans went on to form a society of their own, which is led by the king Black Bolt and his family Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal, Maximus the Mad, and the canine Lockjaw.  For more on The Inhumans, read Marvel’s wiki page.
