Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch tease SDCC fans for ‘Sherlock’ season 3, ‘definitely going to be’ season 4
Benedict Cumberbatch made his appearance at 2013 San Diego Comic-Con during the panel for the upcoming season of Sherlock. Cumberbatch was not actually in the studio audience, he was able to catch up with the event’s producers and sent in a video for his appearance.
“It’s been so much fun, the scripts are just a delight,” Cumberbatch said when speaking about the newest season of Sherlock. “F–k it, I’m going to tell you how Sherlock survived … I know you guys like your spoilers and I feel so much better telling you. Freedom!”
The video then became distorted as Cumberbatch started using stuffed teddy bears to explain how Sherlock survived the fall. It was a fantastic sketch by the actor.
Martin encouraged fans to ask belligerent questions and hound everyone at all the panels. “They like that,” he said. He hoped everyone is having a good time, and he said he’s looking forward to filming the third episode of Sherlock “perhaps more than you are.”
Producer Sue Vertue has given the firmest confirmation yet that the next series won’t be the show’s last saying that Cumberbatch and Freeman have been “optioned” for series four.
There is definitely going to be a fourth series,” she said, “we just haven’t decided when we’re going to do it…I think as long as everyone wants to keep doing it, we’ll keep doing it.”
