Margot Robbie talks ‘Suicide Squad’ Harley Quinn, sequels

The release of Suicide Squad’s trailer back in January increased fan excitement and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is a large part of the frenzy. Robbie embraced the zany character, speaking to Hello Giggles about costume design and the film.

“We tried on every variation of the costume. I cannot emphasize enough how many outfits, and how many variations of the Harley Quinn costume we tried.”

Robbie wasn’t done, adding: “We tried the court jester costume, we tried the corset and skirt, we tried leather pants, we tried literally every type of costume possible for her.”

Robbie teased Suicide Squad sequels, admitting that they could use a different outfit in the next film.

“And who knows, maybe in the sequels we’ll go with the court jester one,” Margot Robbie admitted. “I think there’s a world of possibilities.”

Warner Bros. have huge plans for their DC Cinematic Universe. This will kick into gear when Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is finally released at the end of this month, with Suicide Squad then following in August.

The Wrap reported earlier this month that both Will Smith, who is playing Deadshot in the comic-book adaptation, and writer and director David Ayer have already been approached by the studio about returning.

Also cast are Cara Delevingne as the troubled mage known as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo and Karen Fukuhara as Katana.

Ben Affleck is certain to make an appearance as Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Suicide Squad arrives on August 5, 2016. It will then be followed by Wonder Woman and Justice League: Part One in 2017, The Flash and Aquaman in 2018, Shazam and Justice League: Part Two in 2019, and Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps in 2020.

As well as a Suicide Squad sequel, there’s also expected to be Man Of Steel 2 and a new solo Batman film too.
