‘Man of Steel’ Henry Cavill, ‘Lone Ranger’ Armie Hammer star in ‘Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ photo
Warner Bros. has released the very first The Man from U.N.C.L.E. movie image from director Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of the popular 1960s TV series. Henry Cavill stars alongside Armie Hammer in this first pic.
This version of the film takes place in the early 60s at the height of the Cold War, as Cavill’s CIA agent Napoleon Solo is forced to team up with Hammer’s KGB agent Illya Kuryakin to stop a mysterious criminal organization. The 1960s feel of the film is revealed here was Ritchie attempts to capture what fan’s love of the series.
Ritchie won over fans with his Sherlock Holmes adaptation, combining entertaining action with great humorous banter between Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Fans should expect a similar approach.
The film also stars Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki, and Jared Harris, with Ritchie having penned the screenplay alongside his Sherlock Holmes collaborator Lionel Wigram.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. opens in theaters August 14, 2015.
