‘Mad Max Fury Road’ trailer previews action, explosions, George Miller style
Warner Bros. has released a new Mad Max: Fury Road trailer for director George Miller’s highly anticipated fourth installment in the Mad Max franchise. Tom Hardy filling the role of Max, a man seeking peace following the loss of his wife and child, while Charlize Theron plays Furiosa, a woman who aims to survive by trekking across the desert back to her homeland.
Miller’s massive scale and look has really excited fans and the film appears to rely on practical effects as opposed to CG-filled environments. The practical car crashes and chases make all the difference, and fans are responding strongly.
“My world is fire and blood” begins the voiceover, highlighting the water shortages, gas battles and utter chaos across the land. The chief villain, Immortan Joe, played by Hugh Keays-Byrne – the same actor who played the Toecutter in the original Mad Max, but his two roles have nothing to do with one another.
The film also stars Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, and Abbey Lee Kershaw.
Mad Max: Fury Road opens on May 15, 2015.
Here’s the official synopsis for Mad Max: Fury Road:
Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
