Lubbock police identify body found in alley as Tracey Powell, homeless woman
Lubbock Police Department in Texas have identified the body found in a Central Lubbock Alley as a homeless woman named Tracey Anne Powell.
Powell, 49, was found dead in the alley at the 2400 block of 24th Street by sanitation workers who phoned police on Thursday, September 12, 2019, around 1:05 p.m.
LPD’s Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit and EMS responded to the scene.
EMS pronounced the female deceased.
Police have stated that Powell’s death does not appear suspicious, but no further information was provided.
Officials added that the next of kin has been notified.
The investigation is still ongoing and LPD is waiting on further information from the medical examiner’s office.
