Louisiana: Steven Milner identified as dead man found in dumpster
Authorities have identified the man found dead in a dumpster in Bossier City, Louisiana as Steven Lincoln Milner.
Milner, 45, was identified by the Bossier Parish coroner’s office. Milner was found dead Monday morning in a garbage bin at Cordova Court Apartments near the foot of the Shreveport-Barksdale Highway Bridge.
Traci Landry, Bossier City Police Department public information officer, explained that the body of a deceased male was discovered by a “dumpster diver” around 9:30 a.m. at apartment complex, which is located at the 900 block of Westgate Drive.
Landry explained that a new hi-tech tool was brought out to record the entire area as a 3-dimensional computer image that detectives can refer to whenever they need to do so.
“Bossier City is very lucky to have one. It’s a huge tool. You’ll talk with detectives and they say it’s such a great help. And being able to have that and gather the evidence that they need to solve the crimes,” said Landry.
Several tenants confirmed the victim is a middle-aged man who lives at the apartments and is perhaps best known by others as “the guy who always plays loud music.”
The apartment complex is located just off the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge and across from the main entrance of Barksdale Air Force Base.
Authorities continue to investigate Milner’s death as a homicide. Bossier City police are investigating what they believe is the city’s third homicide of the year.
