‘Lord of the Rings’ actor Marton Csokas joins ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’

The Lord of the Rings actor Marton Csokas is the latest addition to director Marc Webb’s Sony Pictures sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Coskas is rumored to be Dr. Kafka. The comic books have a female founder of the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane who is named Dr Ashley Kafka.

No confirmation on whether this is just a gender switch of the previous character or a new development for the film.

Csokas portrayed the elven king Celeborn in Lord of the Rings. The New Zealand actor also featured in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Amazing Spidey 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper and BJ Novak in the film.

Foxx plays  Electro and Giamatti, Rhino as the second chapter in the reboot which returns Garfield, Stone and Field. Martin Sheen is likely to also have a cameo, probably a flashback of some sort.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will debut on May 2, 2014.
