Life Legal Defense Foundation move to have David Daleiden charges dismissed
Attorneys for pro-life advocate, Center For Medical Progress whisteblower David Daleiden have filed a motion to have all of the charges filed against him by a Planned Parenthood linked district attorney dismissed.
Daleiden is battling charges related to his undercover investigation and exposure of the Planned Parenthood abortion business selling the body parts of aborted babies. Dozens of pro-life advocates turned out to support him. He turned down a plea deal and Daleiden’s attorneys and supporters countered that Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson is biased because of her association with an attorney for an abortion practitioner.
This corruption has since been confirmed. Read HERE.
The motion seeks to dismiss the charges filed against David after he was indicted by a grand jury for allegedly using a fake identification and violating a state statute prohibiting trafficking in fetal tissue. Both were tactics used by the investigative team to infiltrate the Planned Parenthood and abortion circles to create the new videos.
SIGN THE PETITION: Drop the Charges Against David Daleiden and Charge Planned Parenthood
The Life Legal Defense Foundation, one of the pro-life legal groups assisting Daleiden, told LifeNews: “Anderson disregarded both state and federal fetal trafficking laws prohibiting the sale of aborted babies for profit and closed the investigation into PPGC without filing charges against the Planned Parenthood affiliate. Instead, she charged David with the very crime committed by Planned Parenthood.”
“District Attorneys have a great deal of latitude in how they conduct grand jury investigations and can readily obtain indictments in cases they want to prosecute. It is famously said that prosecutors have so much influence over grand juries that they can get them to “indict a ham sandwich.” Yet DA Anderson refused to connect the dots between paying for an aborted fetal specimen and trafficking in fetal tissue,’ LLDF added.
“This is not the first time DA Anderson has elected not to prosecute abortion providers, even in the face of documented evidence of criminal activity,” it continued. “In 2013, Anderson’s grand jury investigation into late-term abortionist Douglas Karpen—who has been called the Gosnell of Houston—failed to return a single indictment, even though Karpen’s former employees stated that babies were born alive and then murdered in his clinic on a daily basis. In 2014, Karpen’s attorney donated over $25,000 to Anderson’s campaign.”
Life Legal continues to coordinate David’s defense, including preparing for possible charges in California after Attorney General Kamala Harris raided David’s apartment and seized his personal property. Life Legal also heads up David’s litigation team in three separate lawsuits filed against him by StemExpress, the National Abortion Federation, and Planned Parenthood—including PPGC.
