Libertarians to host Town Hall for Florida State House Candidates

Pinellas County, FL, August 14, 2014:The Libertarian Party of Pinellas County Executive Committee is officially inviting the public and local media to attend our final installment of the Town Hall Voter Education Series Forum with the Florida State House Candidate Forum being held on August 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

Libertarian PartyThis event will be held at the Main Clearwater Public Library located at 100 North Osceola Ave in Clearwater, FL in the main meeting room. All qualified candidates for Florida State House of Representatives in Pinellas County have been invited to attend and the response has been very encouraging. This forum is open to the public and has been promoted to voters throughout the county as an opportunity to educate themselves about the candidates who have made the commitment to ask for their support in the upcoming 2014 elections in Pinellas County.

“One of the goals of the Libertarian Party of Pinellas County in 2014 is to inspire voters to learn more about all of their options on their ballot,” stated Karena Morrison, Chair of the LPPC, “and these forums were a natural fit for the LPPC to offer educational opportunities for many different races across Pinellas County. Our goal is to provide educational forums where there is not an active Libertarian candidate and to offer the opportunity for all voters to engage with all of the qualified candidates in those races. We look forward to other community organizations offering open forum invitations to all of the qualified candidates in races where we do have active Libertarian candidates and will help promote those events to the voters as well. The participating candidates and the attendees in our previously held forums have been very encouraged by our ‘outside of the box’ format of these forums and were grateful for the educational and fair format.”

The public and the press are encouraged to attend these forums to have the opportunity to submit questions to the candidates in the one-on-one portion of the event or during the moderated Town Hall portion. For those who have missed the Judicial, School Board, and County Commission forums, the videos of the participating candidates are available on the Libertarian Party of Pinellas County’s YouTube Channel.

The participating candidates were also offered the opportunity to answer five out of the attendee submitted questions that they felt were most important to the voters in Pinellas County. The questions and the candidates’ answers are available on the LPPC website.
