Libertarian, author Adam Kokesh sets Clearwater free event next week
The Libertarian Party of Pinellas County is hosting a meet and greet with Adam Kokesh, Iraq Veterans Against the War, “Adam vs the Man” Talk Show Host, Libertarian Activist, Marine, and Author of “Freedom!”
Come on out. There will be free copies of “Freedom!”. This event is free and open to the public. It will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 7pm at 2 Palms Bistro at 2950 Gulf to Bay in Clearwater.
Kokesh, a decorated Iraqi War Veteran and former candidate for Congress in New Mexico, hosts his very own talk show, “Adam vs The Man”. He maintains his oath to honor the US Constitution, including protecting the principles of liberty behind it, from all enemies foreign and domestic.
Adam is renown for peaceful public acts that seem to dub him a thorn in the side of government. Among these, he interrupted John McCain’s acceptance speech claiming the senator is “anti-vet”, organizing silent dances at the Jefferson Memorial in DC (where he was body slammed during his arrest for dancing… if that’s what you want to call it ;-)) and a veteran’s march in honor of the fallen in support of Dr. Ron Paul’s 2012 run for the White House.
He was also arrested for attending a marijuana rally. His latest episode in the clink came with the full fury of militant Park Police using flash bang grenades, a helicopter, and a SWAT team to raid his home and arrest him for posting a youtube of himself loading a shotgun in Freedom Plaza in Washington DC.
The police claim to have “found” mushrooms at the Kokesh residence and filed drug and weapons charges against Adam. He received 2 years probation for one citation and a suspended sentence for another.
Driven by a deep intolerance for injustice, Adam has also done extensive work to alleviate, minimize, and prevent the human suffering that inevitably arises from forceful government intervention. In addition to addressing the kind of suffering he experienced first-hand in Fallujah, he has organized to help veterans struggling with PTSD, railed against 4th Amendment violations, and stood up against the Federal Reserve.
He never loses sight of the long-term goal of inspiring a new commitment to the ideals of liberty so that we may embrace a truly free society in which the aggressive use of force is not tolerated, and the blessings of liberty are shared by all.
Kokesh’s philosophical treatise FREEDOM! became available as a free audiobook and e-book download in June 2014, and was released in print on July 4, 2014. To find out more, visit his web site at http://www.adamvstheman.com/.
