‘LEGO Movie 2’ featurette focuses on cast: Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, and Alison Brie

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is just over a couple weeks away from release and a new featurette gives fans a look at voice cast recording their lines for the animated sequel. Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, and Alison Brie are all reprising their roles from the first film, but we also have Tiffany Haddish and Stephanie Beatriz playing two new characters.

Check out the video below.

Pratt returns as the Master Builder known as Emmet, who has to be the hero again when Wyldstyle (Banks), Metal Beard (Offerman), LEGO Batman (Arnett), and the newly named Ultrakitty (Brie) are taken by Sweet Mayhem (Stephanie Beatriz) to the Sistar System, where they will also encounter the block-shifting Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi (Tiffany Haddish).

There was news recently that Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Margot Robbie would reprise their DC Comics movie roles as Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Harley Quinn in the movie.

The LEGO Movie was massive success and during a recent panel Phil Lord and Chris Miller explain the universe expanding in the new film.

You started this movie knowing that there was a human world, and that the world of LEGO was the world of Finn’s imagination. so going into the movie, most people are armed with that information, so we wanted to try and tell a more complicated and sophisticated version of that story, where we had two different imaginations coming together. And part of the fun of the movie is trying to figure out what’s happening in the real world and how that’s represented in the world of the LEGO.”

Lord and Miller explain how they approached that as writers and how it works in the LEGO universe: “The general idea is that when Bianca, who is played by young Brooklynn Prince, who is an absolute delight of a human being, takes the […] characters upstairs she’s playing with them and telling a story of her own, that’s sort of analogous to a story that Finn was telling in the first movie, when he was playing both sides of a war that was happening with President Business, who represented his dad in the story. She’s kind of imagining how [the LEGO characters] are experiencing it.”

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part hits theaters on February 8, 2019.

Synopsis:

The citizens of Bricksburg face a dangerous new threat when LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space start to wreck everything in their path. The battle to defeat the enemy and restore harmony to the LEGO universe takes Emmet, Lucy, Batman and the rest of their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds that test their courage and creativity.
