‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 Winter finale: Legion of Doom arrives with Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold

The Legion of Doom will assemble in the winter finale of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, teased on and off again through the series.

Throughout the first half of the season, Eobard Thawne, a.k.a. Reverse-Flash, has been hunting down various artifacts with the help of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and now the duo will soon grow into a foursome, as Legends has been teasing since San Diego Comic-Con.

During Thursday’s episode, a send-up to the 1987 gangster drama The Untouchables, the Legends uncover a time aberration in 1927 Chicago. Eobard has lured them to this era, and The Flash villain debuts his new teammates.

“We introduce Malcolm Merlyn [John Barrowman] to the Legion of Doom as well as discover what the Legion’s agenda for the season is,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells EW. “The Legion of Doom not only brings Malcolm Merlyn into their ranks, but they partner up with Al Capone.”

Fans also expect to see Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), but this may not be the Leonard Snart that the Legends remember.
“It’s an incredibly fun episode,” says Guggenheim, who remains coy about the arrival of Snart — except to say we’ll see him before the end of the hour. “Quite a few boxes get checked off,” Guggenheim says.

The end of the hour will offer its own cliffhanger. “I would definitely watch until the final moment,” Guggenheim says. “There’s a surprise at the end that even if people are expecting it, they’re not expecting the way we’re doing it.”

Legends stars Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Arthur Darvill, Dominic Purcell, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Nick Zano, Amy Pemberton, Matt Letscher and Maisie Richardson-Sellers. Christina Brucato was recently added for a recurring role as Lily Stein.
