Just ahead of the end of Legends of Tomorrow season 1, word dropped that the Vandal Savage storyline would conclude cleanly and the writers would be taking the show in a very different feel, direction, heroes, and villains. In fact, showrunner Phil Klemmer had to talked to IGN about this point specifically.
“We’re coming at it from a completely different angle. We’re determined to make every part of Season 2 feel like its own show. Episode 201 will very much be a new pilot with new good guys, new bad guys, new stakes, new dynamics, new goals. The team will basically have to find a new purpose. Once you save the world, what do you do then? It’s sort of a question of after you’ve won a Super Bowl, what do you do from there? The fact that the world was in peril sort of forced our team to fall into its own dysfunctional version of lockstep.”
When the show was first unveiled as a concept trailer, there was already a basic premise laid out in the battle to stop Savage. This time around, there may be more leeway for the creative team to come up with their own story, and figure out some fun things that could work in this universe.
Fans can assume that time travel will still play a role, but who knows.
The “Legends of Tomorrow” team will see a shake-up
