‘Legends of Tomorrow’: Caity Lotz on Sarah seeing Willa Holland’s Thea again
The new spin-off from The Flash and Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, will include the return of Caity Lotz as Sarah, who was killed by Oliver’s sister Thea (Willa Holland). Reuniting the characters will be a great story with some interesting consequences and Lotz agrees.
“I would imagine it would be a hard image to shake, Thea’s face as she shoots three arrows into Sara’s chest,” Caity says to EW. “Though when/if Sara learns that it was actually Malcolm Merlyn’s doing, I think she’d definitely have some feelings of revenge brewing in her stone cold assassin blood.”
Ciara Renee (who is set to play Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl) denied the chatter on Twitter that a show is in the works, and a network source told TVLine that any such show is not happening.
“Srry to disappoint, but the rumors are false. No #Hawkgirl solo show! Thanx for all the love though! Even more excited to start #DCLOT now!” —
Deadline elaborates on this: “Saunders is a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker Hawkgirl.”
The news of a potential spin-off was first reported by SpoilerTV, but nothing else has landed that confirms the speculation.
Phil Klemmer (The Tomorrow People) has been named as executive producer and showrunner of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow with a 13 episode season planned. Brandon Routh (as the Atom) will lead a new superhero team on the CW, which will also include Lotz (Black Canary), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave), and Victor Garber (half of Firestorm).
Doctor Who alum Arthur Darvill will play the time traveling Rip Hunter. No word yet on who will play series villain Vandal Savage.
Expect more details to emerge as the show will land next year.
