Lebanon records first MERS coronavirus case

Lebanon’s Health Ministry has announced the first case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in the country, according to an El Nashra report Thursday (computer translated).

Health Minister Wael Abu Faour  said that “in terms of transparency towards the Lebanese public opinion, responsibility and concern for the safety and health of the Lebanese, was this afternoon diagnosis of one case of a patient infected with” Corona “. He said that the Health Ministry monitored the safety measures being taken by the hospital and was following up on the treatment of the disease. “This has led to a significant improvements in the patient’s health and he was allowed to leave the hospital,” Abu Faour said.
