Lawrence Gilliard Jr set to join ‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 as Roy Stark
Season 4 of The Walking Dead is set to return to production in May with an October planned return. Monday iDigitalTimes reported that Lawrence Gilliard Jr is being sought for the role of Roy Stark.
UPDATE: Gilliard will play Army medic Bob Stuckey
The Waterboy actor would be a regular for season 4.
Stark is described as a “former army medic who is deeply haunted by his past.”
There as been plenty of speculation as to whether Roy is just a code name for Abraham or someone else from the Robert Kirkman comic, or we are looking at a completely new character here.
Lawrence Gilliard Jr. is best known for his roles in Waterboy, Gangs Of New York and The Wire.
Although not official, if Gilliard Jr. does land the role of Stark he will be joining Chad Coleman, his former Wire cast member. Coleman joined the hit AMC show in season 3 as Tyreese.
The Walking Dead will begin filming for season 4 in May with an October 14 return date.
