According to Las Vegas police, on August 29, 2019 at approximately 5:07 a.m., the Las Vegas Metro Police Department dispatch center received a call reporting a man with a sledgehammer outside of Twin Lakes laundromat located in the 1000 block of North Rancho.
During the call, screaming was heard and the line suddenly disconnected. Responding patrol officers located a female laying outside of a business who had been bludgeoned. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Patrol officers began canvassing the area and located the suspect, later identified as 38-yearold Clinton Taylor, covered in blood and carrying a sledgehammer. Taylor was immediately taken into custody and Homicide Detectives responded. Detectives do not believe the victim and suspect were known to each other and the murder was a random act of violence.
Taylor’s cousin, Char-maine Beverly said he spent years in and out of mental health treatment–suffering from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder–and violent outbursts that grew more common.
