Kauai has been a popular filming location in the past for such films as Jurassic Park and Godzilla so there is no real surprise there.
“Well really it was [director] Jordan Vogt-Roberts has such an extraordinary vision,” Hiddleston said to Red Carpet News TV when asked what made him decide to accept the project.
“His story which I know he hasn’t revealed to anyone yet is King Kong you’ve never seen before, and it’s very ambitious and epic and fresh and new in his vision and design and the characters are amazing. The chance to work with legendary again, who made Crimson Peak, and I love what they did with Godzilla, there are number of things, but it’s more of working with Jordan particularly, his idea is amazing and the story and the script and the studio so yeah, it’s a very easy yes.”
Kong: Skull Island is being penned by scribes Max Borenstein and John Gatins. Keaton (Birdman), Simmons (Spider-Man) and Hiddleston (The Avengers) have created a ton of fan interest.
Kong: Skull Island will arrive in theaters on March 10, 2017.
