Kirk Cameron wins big with ‘Saving Christmas,’ the haters rally to persecute him
Congrats Kirk Cameron, you have truly succeeded in upsetting the “enemy.” Jesus says in John 15: 18 that “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
Guess what? They hate Kirk; therefore, he can welcome the praise for the Lord.
Saving Christmas was not a very good film, but rather a sermon directed to the Christian faithful who have over analyzed and welcomed the wordly tales about Christmas (my full review HERE). That said, it’s no where near the Worst Films of All-Time yet there is a movement on IMDB to vote against the film and give it the label as such.
“Right now there are around 1300 votes with a 1.3 star rating. 200 more votes like this and it will be officially the worst movie on IMDB. Not only that, but it’ll be .5 stars lower than birdemic. Please tell your friends about this movie so they can than rate it 1 star. Believe me… It deserves it.,” this User connorkabbes posted.
Yep, that’s right. They are mobilizing to bash the film, mark it down in an inane effort to punish Kirk Cameron.
“Mua we he he ha ha ha. Satan has triumphed again! Just kidding. Don’t believe in that nonsense either,” a few posts later proclaims. “But it is a triumph for the sane people and realists of the world. Hopefully, religious fanaticism will go the way of Zeus…and good riddance. People who have an invisible friend in the sky are clinically insane. When they try to legislate their beliefs, they are dangerous.”
Childish?
Welcome to the 2014 Internet.
As a Christian I applaud Kirk’s effort and mission to assist the Christian community. On a $500K budget, the film has already over $2.5 million.
[…] While Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas has earned the most hatred from movie elitists (it was more sermon than film after all), it was Darren Aronofsky’s Noah that was just a big […]
Yeah, Christians in the United States are SOOOOO persecuted … especially given that MOST Americans are Christian, and virtually ALL religious programming on TV and radio is Christian-oriented.
And then there’s Christmas, the ONLY religious holiday that causes both the public and private sectors to grind to a complete halt. so much so that non-Christians have little choice but to go along for the ride. Is it ANY wonder that non-Christians have co-opted the occasion for their own purposes, putting up lights and decorations and hosting parties WITHOUT necessarily bowing down before Baby Jesus? THAT’S what gets Kirk Cameron’s panties in a twist, and exactly why this movie was so ill-advised.
