Kendrick Johnson death: Second autopsy reveals a different cause of death
The Georgia teen found dead in a wrestling mat earlier this year may not have died from an accident as his parents have asserted, with a new cause of death listed as “unexplained, apparent non-accidental, blunt force trauma.”

The body of Kendrick Johnson, age 17, was exhumed and subjected to a second autopsy which may point to his murder, says a local paper.
Johnson was young and fit and the details from case never seem to satisfy his parents. He was found rolled up inside a wrestling mat at school. The initial theory was that the teen fell or went into the mat to retrieve a shoe and was somehow trapped upside-down inside the mat for too long.
Dr. William R. Anderson, the Ocala, Fla.-based pathologist hired by the Johnson family and supporters to perform the second autopsy, told The Times he gave copies of his completed report to family and law-enforcement authorities last Friday.
Anderson said he would not elaborate on the findings, but did tell The Times that the second autopsy raises “issues of concern.”
The local coroner has even raised questions during the investigation after learning about the body being moved and what authorities initially reported. Blood sample delays and an uncooperative sheriff’s office raised more questions.
