Kelsey Grammer discusses ‘X-Men Days of Future Past’ cameo, returning for ‘X-Men Apocalypse’

While promoting Transformers: Age of Extinctin, Kelsey Grammer spoke briefly about joining the all-star cast in X-Men: Days of Future Past and possibly returing again.

“So I made a couple of inquiries, got a hold of the script, found out that it’s primarily dealing with the past and that timeline I don’t have a place in, but I saw that at the end there was this coda where he made an appearance.  I said, ‘Listen, I really wanna be involved,’ so Bryan arranged for it and I had a lovely time.”

The Frasier stars confirms he’d be up for a return in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.

“I hope to do another.  I hope they find some way to come up with a new story that involves Beast in my timeline.”

Grammer stars in Transformers as Harold Attinger, a human that is fueling the anti-Transformers sentiment after the devastating battle in the last film.

He also join the all-star action cast for The Expendables 3 which opens August 15th in theaters.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be set in the 1980s, centering on the popular villain by the same name and will feature “mass destruction.” While there are not a lot of details, comments by creators allude to a place for characters from the original trilogy.

Singer has spoken about the appeal of ancient mutants and how they would be treated like Gods: “What would people thousands of years ago, without the benefit of science, think mutants were? And more importantly, what would mutants thousands of years ago think they were? Gods? Titans? Angels? Demons? And if such mutants did exist thousands of years ago, what became of them? Did one survive?”

A standalone Gambit film is also in the works, so Nightcrawler and Gambit being a part of the Apocalypse seems very likely.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to arrive in theaters on May 27, 2016.
