Katie Travis, Storm Lineberger, Frank Viveros talks ‘Phantom of the Opera’
The Phantom of the Opera is back at Tampa’s Straz Center and the stars of this spectacular production gives fans a look inside the show, how they were cast and what to expect.
“Nothing compares to that day you know you are in in it,” says Frank Viveros on finding out hewas cast as Ubaldo Piangi.
Katie Travis plays Christine with Storm Lineberger as Raoul and both shared Frank’s excitement as Katie confessed that “reality didn’t set in for a day or two.”
I was “in true disbelief that it happened so fast,” Lineberger says after recounting that he had just moved to New York a month or so before landing the incredible “dream role.”
Chris Mann jumped to stardom after appearing on The Voice and will play the Phantom. Viveros says this production has a “human quality…a very personal quality while Lineberger promises it’s the “show everyone knows.”
“It’s like a ‘Best of’ experience, where you love all of these things, you love every song, you know every song…It’s amazing,” Travis explains.
The actors talked about how well they get along, “support one another” and previewed how this production “reimagined the descent” into the Phantom’s lair, a “very cool experience,” promises Katie Travis.
Tickets are now on sale for THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which will play the Straz Center for the Performing Arts’ Morsani Hall, Dec. 17, 2014-Jan. 4, 2015, as part of the Bank of America Best of Broadway Tampa Bay series.
