Sleepy Hollow‘s resident witch, Katrina Crane, played by Katia Winter, is making a mark for herself and now, in an interview with HuffPo TV, discusses the show’s new found success.

“It’s amazing. I mean, I expected it to do well with the fans, but I’ve been surprised it’s doing incredibly well…across the board really.”

Winter plays Ichabod Crane’s wife Katrina and the Swedish actress hopes that Katrina will finally be released from the netherworld limbo, or “purgatory” that her character is trapped in and says she loves her role because “there are endless possibilities with witches.”

“You’ll get to know here more, starting next week. There will be a lot more flashbacks. You get to know her character more and the reasons why she’s stuck in this place.”

Sleepy Hollow has already been renewed for a second season – more here.

Sleepy Hollow airs Mondays at 9p.m. ET on Fox.
