‘Justified’ season 6: Sam Elliott, Garret Dillahunt cast as ‘villains’ against Timothy Olyphant’s Raylan

The popular FX show Justified won’t return until January, but fans can excited by the news that Sam Elliott and Garret Dillahunt have joined Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins and company.

Legendary actor Sam Elliott will play Markham, a former Kentucky gangster who returns from exile in Colorado with a fortune earned growing legal marijuana in the state. He comes back to reclaim his former empire and his one-time love, Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen).

Dillahunt’s character, Walker, brings special ops and combat zone experience — along with buried demons and simmering rage — to his work as the head of security for a semi-legal businessman. This sets up an intense confrontation for Olyphant’s Raylan Givens who stuck around after season 5 to go after Boyd Crowder (Goggins).

“I want to see it slow down,” Olyphant said of season 6, noting “in the end, it has to come down to Ava and Boyd and Raylan” and their families. All of which was part of the climax in season 5.

“Those three people, at the end of this season, they’re all in big trouble.”

Justified also stars Nick Searcy, Jacob Pitts, Erica Tazel, Joelle Carter and Jere Burns.

Back in June, THR dropped a single photo and hint that the show filmed a scene. Likely due to scheduling or a possible guest appearance may have factored into the event. Speaking with The Global Dispatch, Alicia Witt didn’t know of the filming and remained hopeful that her character, Wendy Crowe, would also be back.

Justified Season 6 premieres in January and will be the final season in the series.
