‘Jurassic World’ trailer coming as new photos, more details revealed with viral site goes live
A new chapter in the Jurassic Park franchise arrives next summer with Jurassic World, which takes place some 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park.
Director Colin Treverrow doesn’t appear to be addressing the two sequels and the new launched viral website fills in some gaps between this twenty plus time period. Masrani Global is the company that helped rebuild Jurassic Park into the thriving dinosaur-filled theme park that it is today.
The viral site has what you’d expect to see in these faux websites, history of the company, career opportunities, and of course media, which actually consists of images. These new images include our first looks at Iffran Khan and BD Wong’s characters – check them out below.
There is also some insight as to what happened to INGEN since the incident 22 years ago. Here’s how the Marsani Global website describes the new InGen:
InGen is all about tomorrow’s technology, today. Ever since its founder Dr. John Parker Hammond dreamed up the idea to access prehistoric life from preserved DNA in fossilized amber, InGen’s headquarters in San Diego, CA have been busy at work collecting the world’s most comprehensive genomic library. Their work paved the way for the first prehistoric animal to be brought back to life in 1984 and since then have learned valuable lessons about control and environmental issues which have helped shape the company into what it is today.
The acquisition of InGen by Masrani in 1998 before Dr. Hammond’s passing hasn’t changed the scientific focus placed on the company, and CEO Simon Masrani has looked to experienced geneticist Dr. Henry Wu to guide the company ever since – with results often exceeding expectations for investors. Thanks to Masrani, InGen has been reinvented and is bringing tomorrow’s science, today.
Dr. Wu (Wong) has been quite busy helping rebuild Jurassic World, but also has been splicing genes to create new creatures. This would conincide with the rumors that we will see a hybrid dinosaur of some sort.
Here’s a little bit about Masrani and his connection to InGen:
In 1997 Simon Masrani began talks to acquire International Genetic Technologies after the passing of Dr. John Hammond in order to reshape and restore the company to a level of satisfaction once sought by the former founder. By 1998 InGen was under the Masrani umbrella and the years from 2002 to 2004 would help lead the Masrani company on their biggest adventure yet: the construction of Jurassic World on Isla Nublar.
With the viral site officially launched, this could mean that a trailer is just about to be released. There is a countdown at jurassicworld.com so many think that this first trailer for Jurassic World will debut on Thanksgiving Day.
Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt stars as a “dino wrangler with an attitude” alongside Bryce Dallas Howard as a corporate scientist who works at the park. The Amazing Spider-Man star Irrfan Khan will play the CFO and billionaire owner of the new Jurassic Park and Vincent D’Onofrio from Law & Order: Criminal Intent is a character “projects the image of a normal family man to mask a hidden edge.” – More here.
