‘Jurassic World’ sequel set to film in 2017, BD Wong talks Dr. Wu’s return or ‘death’
While promoting the DVD release of the Jurassic World, star Bryce Dallas Howard (The Lady in the Water, The Village) confirmed that filming of the sequel will begin in 2017. Chris Pratt will be back with Howard as the film’s protagonists: Owen Grady and Claire.
The film’s director Colin Trevorrow will not be back to direct the sequel, however, he is penning its screenplay alongside Derek Connolly, who was among the group of writers that wrote Jurassic World.
Check out Howard’s remarks below, around the seven minute mark.
Additionally B.D. Wong is hopeful that Dr. Henry Wu will pop up again.
In a new interview with Comic Book Resources, Wong revealed that he only has one hope for the next movie: Wu gets a glorious, franchise-appropriate death.
“You never know what’s going to happen in that helicopter. It could just crash or something like that, and then that’s it, the end of it, and they don’t pick up with someone else. But yeah, I could see that. I would think that would be really fun. It would be fun to have a great death. Might as well go for it: Ask for a great death if you’re going to be the villain! And I don’t see why not. I have no other knowledge other than that, but I can’t see why not.”
Co-star Nick Robinson also wants in on the sequel.
“I have not heard anything so we’ll see what happens. Fingers crossed,” Nick told HollywoodLife.com, saying he’s up for a big action role when asked about what he’d like to see from Zach.
“I was gonna say ride in a helicopter, but I don’t think that really turned out too well for the last guy,” he joked. “So maybe take a spin on the motorcycle. The vehicles they have are crazy in this world. So, I’m game, I’m up for whatever, I’d take a spin on the motorcycle.”
Jurassic World sequel is scheduled to open on June 22, 2018.
