‘Jurassic World 2’ details: James Cromwell linked to Hammond, Jeff Goldblum returns

Jeff Goldblum will return and now there’s news on James Cromwell’s character: he’s a partner with Hammond. Jurassic World will have a lot to live up to and news is key to understanding the big setup for the sequel.

While being interviewed by Larry King, actor James Cromwell revealed some details about his Jurassic World 2 character in the sequel, saying:

“The character Richard Attenborough played, I’m his partner Benjamin Lockwood. We developed the technology of being able to clone the genes, and so I’m trying to deal with the blow back from what we have done.”

Based on the events of Jurassic World, fans can presume that Cromwell’s Lockwood will take issue with B.D. Wong’s Dr. Wu, who helped create the Indominus Rex that essentially destroyed the fully-functional park.

Both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return to reprise their roles in the first film while starring alongside Toby Jones, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith and Rafe Spall. Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg are returning to produce the film, which has J.A. Bayona (When a Monster Calls, The Impossible) in the director’s chair.

Pineda has been cast as a “key role” and “one of the new female lead roles” and Geraldine Chaplin, reunites with Bayona, who has been cast in an unknown role.

Bayona’s frequent cinematographer Óscar Faura is behind the camera, and Jurassic World composer Michael Giacchino is once again providing the music.

The Jurassic World sequel is set for release on June 22, 2018.
