Judge strikes down Rachel Canning lawsuit, seeking child support from her parents
A New Jersey student has lost her lawsuit against her own parents and her efforts for financial support and high school tuition as the judge said it would be a precedent by setting limits on parenting.

Rachel Canning, age 18, of Morris Catholic High School, was denied her requests for child support of $654 a week as well as thousands of dollars in attorney fees and immediate reimbursement of her high school tuition.
Canning, a New Jersey honor student, sued her parents after they threw her out of their home two days before her 18th birthday (her parents insist she moved voluntarily) and sought financial support to continue her education.
Legal experts say that the rare case, if successful, would evoke similar suits in the future.
Jeralyn Lawrence, the incoming Family Law Section chair for the New Jersey Bar Association, said: “This could open the floodgates of recalcitrant kids fighting with their parents, moving out and then suing for them to keep paying.”
Another hearing to decide whether to require her parents to pay for Canning’s college tuition is tentatively scheduled for April 22.
”My caretaker lawyer feeds me grog. I throw booze parties in limousines. Daddy used to also get me drunk, kiss me, even turned me into an emotional wreck bulimic??”
Does the story get any more diabolical?
Is this really a lawsuit for financial support or a battle cry for a lost soul?? Or a war by proxy between the girl’s parents and her booze lawyer caretaker ???
