The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman as authorities have stated that they don’t believe this was random.
Gooden’s body was found by a passerby. Another man, Terry Lad, who was walking his dog in the area shortly after midnight told KING 5 he had heard a loud bang like a firework.
Police are not willing to connect the sound to a guhshot and the killing of Gooden.
Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson said investigators are hoping for witness tips. No arrests have been made, and Jamieson said he’s not sure if they’re searching for one or more suspects.
Jamieson said investigators “do not believe the woman was randomly targeted.”
He did not elaborate, but another police source says they believe Gooden knew her attacker.
